Designed for preschool-aged children (3–5 years old) to support developmental growth through purposeful play and exploration in the natural environment.
Guided by a licensed pediatric occupational therapist, this group targets essential early childhood skills through nature-rich activities that promote:
Sensory integration and emotional regulation
Fine and gross motor coordination
Social interaction and cooperative play
Attention, problem-solving, and early executive functioning
Independence and confidence in movement and exploration
Children engage in playful, movement-based challenges such as climbing, digging, balancing, and imaginative outdoor tasks, all while developing key readiness skills for future learning and peer engagement. Our therapist facilitates with intention—supporting each child’s unique sensory, motor, and social needs within a dynamic, natural setting.

Our OT Groups for children ages 6–8, offering therapeutic support through meaningful outdoor experiences that foster regulation, connection, and skill-building during the middle childhood years.
Led by a licensed pediatric occupational therapist, this group empowers participants through engaging, nature-centered challenges that promote:
Emotional regulation and stress management
Motor planning, strength, and coordination
Peer interaction, communication, and teamwork
Executive functioning (flexibility, organization, impulse control)
Self-confidence, independence, and resilience

Groups run for one month at a time.
New groups begin September, February, May, and July.

These trial groups offer an opportunity to try out our outdoor OT groups to see if they are the right fit for your family! Our trial groups that run periodically throughout the year and are one month in length.
Trial groups include assessment, 1 caregiver consultation, 4 group sessions which are run in the same style and framework as our traditional semester long packages.

Total Package price for Trial Groups includes an initial assessment and goal planning session, 4 weekly 2 hour group OT sessions, 1:1 parent consultation call, and a written progress report at the end of the term : $955
$250 deposit at time of application acceptance
Remaining balance may be payed in one or two payments.

Outdoor OT Groups in Maryville & Walland, TN
Our Walland groups meet at Twin Valley Horse Ranch
Nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, we have access to nearly 200 acres of beautiful private land. Boasting of numerous hiking trails, wildflowers, farm animals, and fishing pond, this location serves as a retreat for both kids and parents alike!
Our Maryville groups meet at Jarvis Park
This beautiful park is conveniently located close to downtown Maryville and offers natural spaces with access to forested walking trails, creek access, tree swings, etc.
Group OT Semester Packages Include:
$2,790 per Fall or Spring Semester
Available as one-time payment or equal monthly payments

We formulate an individualized plan of care for each child in our groups!
A skilled assessment is conducted over the first 2 sessions along with a private goal planning session with your therapist to determine the most important goals for your child.

OT Groups are held weekly and are led by our expert therapist with at least one supporting volunteer staff to ensure your child’s safety.
During these groups, we skillfully facilitate structured and unstructured play through exploration, outdoor games, nature crafts, and nutritious snack time to build address your child’s unique goals!

Each month, you will have the opportunity to meet privately with your child’s therapist via phone or video call to discuss your child’s progress.
We believe that caregiver partnership is vital to the therapeutic process! We value this chance to collaborate with families to help train, equip, and encourage parents and caregivers so that you can confidently support your child!

At the end of each semester, you will receive a written progress report that includes your therapists skilled assessment of your child’s progress on their goals!
Your child will build skills to help them grow in attention, confidence, social skills, managing emotions, coordination, and creativity!
Our goal is to help your child thrive by using fun and engaging play, led by expert therapists to support your child’s development using evidence-based practice!
Each group consists of 3-5 children, intentionally selected by our therapists based on the child’s needs.
Our skilled therapy groups are FUN and Playful! Play is the most important way that our kids learn, and we understand how to help your child develop important skills while staying rooted play!

Service Rates
We offer package pricing for our OT Group Services.
A $250 deposit will be due within 48 hrs. of receiving acceptance into one of our groups.
Fall and Spring Rates
Total Package price for fall and spring semesters includes an initial assessment and goal planning session, weekly 2 hour group OT sessions, monthly 1:1 parent consultation calls, and a written progress report at the end of the semester : $2,790

Payment for Wild Roots OT Groups
Wild Roots OT is a private pay therapy practice. We desire to provide the highest level of individualized care for our clients; therefore, we do not accept medical insurance. This allows us to provide services that go above and beyond with the freedom to practice in a family-centered way.
If you have out-of network benefits through your medical insurance, we offer superbills (paid-in-full invoices) upon request, if you choose to submit to your insurance for reimbursement after services have been provided.
We offer package pricing with one-time or monthly payment options over the course of the program. Adjusted pricing and/or scholarships are offered for low-to-moderate income families when funding is available.
